Rezum Report at 6 Weeks

I appreciate all the Rezum reports posted here. So it's fair I post mine.
Rezum in September 2022. Eight steam shots on a 50 size prostate. I was instructed to take one oxycodone pill one hour before. I also had numbing gel, prostate block and laughing gas. They will tell you that you won't remember anything and you won't feel much. I remember some and there were a couple of times when I would have risen off the stirrups had I not been strapped in. The gas made me very woozy after the procedure. When I got home, the gas triggered some severe vomiting. It passed.
I went home with a catheter and day bag only. I decided to empty the bag every 2-3 hours just to be safe. The catheter was very uncomfortable. In fact, the catheter discomfort was worse than the procedure healing. I never took anything stronger than Tylenol.
The catheter was removed on day 5. A Spanner stent was immediately installed. It is essentially a miniature Foley catheter but fits entirely inside the body. That way you can urinate as normal. The Spanner was great except for the two long "positioning" threads which were left hanging outside my body. The threads were uncomfortable and a pain to deal with.
After three weeks, the Spanner was removed. There was some quick discomfort when the Spanner was put in and removed. All together, I had about one month of "assistance" before I had to pee on my own. (Five days catheter plus three weeks Spanner) Everything started working fine although it did feel a little different.
I'm six weeks + into this now. Everything is working fine. It is not great yet -- but I remain hopeful. For instance, I am still waiting for that moment when I "start peeing like a teenager". I had hoped I would sleep longer at night. Hasn't happened yet. And there still is some urgency but it's getting better.
I suppose the headline is -- so far so good. My final medical check is in January. I hope this is helpful.
