I had the procedure done six days ago after five days I removed my catheter every time I tried to urinate, at the point of peeing I had a bladder spasm and could not, it was so painful I had To go to the ER and have a new catheter put in last night. Has anyone experienced these bladder spasms? I certainly hope this was all worth it I’m 55 and have an enlarged prostate with a median lobe I would like to be off medication finasteride

You are going to get spasm when you have a catheter. Rezum does take a long time to heal and see any improvement. If you have been on this site and fellow the men on this site there have been some that has taking up to a year to heal and they were still on medication and doing CIC. Rezum is not for everyone
I have kept track of the men on here for the last 4 years. 108 have had the procedure and only 45 % have seen some improvement. Also out of the 108 you had 83 men ended up retro. They were not happy.
One last thing Out of the 108 . 10 men had to have a Turp to fix the damage that Rezum did to the prostate tissue
Good luck and I will say a prayer for you.....Ken
PS. Did you look into anything else or is this the only thing your doctor talked about

My doctor said because I had an enlarged median lobe this was the procedure to do I’ve had to go to the ER twice now to have my catheter put back in and the bladder spasms just are so awful it seems like they prevented me from being the second time I took my catheter out and Peed a few times and then bladder spasms prevented me from peeing and I had a third catheter put in I’m calling the office tomorrow at the two week point to demand to go in to see my urologist

I'm so sorry for what you are going through. How big was your prostate. You having to have that catheter in all the time is going to cause you a infection
If your prostate was a 100 or less you could have had a Urolift and for the median lobe they would have done a Midlift. I'm taken it has your doctor does not do them so he did not bother you with that.
I had the Urolift done almost 8 years ago 4 clips still open. The Medlift came out a couple of years ago because of all the other procedures cause retro and men did not want to deal with it.
I have been watching this procedure for over 4 years. Out of the 108 that had it done only 45% saw some improvement and also out of the 108 83 men ended up with retro because of where the injection were place. 10 men also had to have Turp surgery to fix the damage to the prostate
I wish you luck and I feel sorry for what you are going through
