Rezume therapy procedure

Had the procedure done 6 days ago. Best part: Anethsthesia (have them put you out-I would imagine this would be a bit painful otherwise-for example, they had a bit of trouble getting the catheter pass my bladder neck). Worst part: Catheter-can be very uncomfortable and painful for men. Didn't mind carrying or emptying the receptacle, just minded the movement of the tube up and down the penis with any motion, and the irritation it caused to the head of the penis. Rejoiced when it was removed 3 days after the procedure! 2 things that I feel are important: 1) Take Ibuprofen (600mg) 4X/day during this period; 2) Continue to take prescribed medications such as Flomax and anti-bladder spasm meds. Prior to catheter removal, a nurse injected a solution back up into my bladder which I had to hold until I got to the restroom, then had to eliminate. This is to test that you are able to eliminate urine from your bladder following catheter removal. The next 24-48 hrs. had me concerned as to whether or not I should have left the catheter in a day or two longer as urine retention was definitely evident. 48 hrs. after removal, I peed 24 times in one day, slowly eliminating a total of 69 oz. after having consumed 48oz that day. This suggests to me that I was eliminating some urine held from the day before as, usually, the ratio of output to input should be about 40% min.72 hrs. after catheter removal, things have improved a bit in that my bladder seems to be less full, I am not peeing as often, and the stream strength is beginning to improve. So-bottom line-I trust, in my case, that the procedure will produce the results I had hoped for, but be prepared for a few days of discomfort following the procedure.
