Anyone had RF Ablation (nerves burned near discs)? If so, did you get pain relief? How long? If you have repeated this procedure has there been long term negative affects (movement, muscular, etc)?

Hi, Yes I have had Ablations done on the nerves near the facett joints . It was done about 3 years ago and yes it did help. They say it can help you from about 1 month up to 18 months. The injections burn the nerve endings near the joints identified . After a mumber of months they they will grow back again putting you back in the same way as you were before, but it defanately helps .

Believe it or not, I just had this procedure completed two days ago! I have found some relief from the major lower back pain (pinched nerve type of pain), but my leg still feels numb and the upper thigh sore. Still, it has made a positive difference and I'm told I won't feel the full effect for 2-4 weeks. If you are in pain, go for it. The procedure is not complicated or painful. I was in and out within two hours time (needed a driver though).
