Hi Friends,

Have any one taken simvastatin? The doctor gave me for lipids.

This time, my Rheumy gave me Metotroxate 20 mg once a week and Azathioprine 50 mg 3 times a week,Salazopyrin twice daily. He also gave me calcium daily 1 tab, vitamin D2 once a week along with Folic tab daily.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

      Do you still take Simvastatin?

I mean do we need to take life long?

Yes, I still take it except on the night I take the Methotexate.  I am 70 and my doctor indicated she wanted me to keep taking it. So yes I think it is for life.  I take before I go to bed and have not notice any side effects.

I was on Simvastatin but the GP changed it to Atvorstatin. This is to control my cholesterol. I am on Methotrexate 10mg. Been on this for 4 years and apart from side effects in the beginning no problems. I think my cholesterol med may have been changed due to cost,
