Rib and lung pain, comes in waves

It's about a 7-8/10 pain. It comes in waves. Hurts more when I'm eating but still effects me when I'm not doing anything or walking.

I do smoke , around half a pack a day. But yesterday and today I've only smoked about 4 pr 5 cigarettes all together. And I had asthma as a child(but it was inactive when I turned about 7, and I'm 16)

The pain started yesterday when I woke up, and I just brushed it off as cramping from oversleeping, that sometimes happens.

But today it just continued and actually got worse. This morning I figured it was hunger pain, so I ate and it didn't go away. And a few minutes ago I ate and it actually felt worse.

I'm not sure what to do or when to expect it to stop. But it's pretty bad.

Does anyone have any idea about what it could be?

As this was 3 days ago I hope you have now seen a doctor. Pain like this when you have high cholesterol and you smoke should not be ignored.   It could be a digestive/gall bladder problem but it could be something more serious.
