Rib cage pain

I am 51 and have Polymyalgia since February. I have the usual symptoms but does anyone else feel pain around their rib cage?

    Yes, I have had pmr for nearly 4 years and experience pain around the rib cage.

    Hi, I am 56and was told I might have pmr. All the signs, painfully neck and shoulders, especially at night. Sometimes pain moves to my hips and lower back. Can't move very well in bed,turn over etc. was put on 15mg's of prednisolone in April and still suffering but not as bad. I also have recently been having pain under the ribs and to my left side, hurts to breath too heavily sometimes. I presume the pmr is just choosing where it goes. It's so comforting to hear I'm not alone, although I'm sorry for your suffering.

    A visit to your GP is necessary and tell him/her exactly what is going on. Pain under the ribs and hurting to breathe is not part of PMR, well not that I know of. I would want this investigated. Please do not put everything down to PMR or Pred. Other things happen and if you had not had PMR and were not taking Pred you would have gone to your GP.

    Yes, you are right, sometimes it is difficult to know whether it is the pmr or something else. But I will get it checked out.
