Rigevidon & mood swings

Posted , 3 users are following.

So I was depressed from Christmas this year for about 4 months after I finally left my physically abusive partner.

This is a person who has previously hospitalised me and been violent to me for 3 years. I began having panic attacks and anxiety about a year into our relationship.

Anyway, I got over this. Went back to work which was hard, met someone new who is amazing. Understandably I have started taking birth control (Rigevidon) It was great however *TMI* my boobs were really sore for about 2 weeks. I thought nothing of it. Now my period has come it's like my depression is back and it is horrible  [sad] !! The first day of my period I was ok, then day 2 I had waves of anger. Now days 3 & 4 I've felt very low, negative about the future, "what if this doesnt go away after my period" thoughts and the worst part is it is taking me back to a time in my life that I desperately do not want to be reminded of anymore. So now I am worrying I will be depressed which is making me feel even worse  [sad] ! Has anybody had these effects from the pill? Mood swings?

Any help???? Thankyou

    Hi,

I've not personally had a problem with mood swings on my pill (I'm in cerazette) but a friend of mine used to get terrible mood swings on her pill (can't for the life of my remember which one it was). But any pill can cause mood swings - have you spoken to your doctor? With any problems with a certain pill they usually recommend you use it for 3 months to see if things even out before they start you on a new pill. She ended up trying loads of different pills and then ended up with the coil because her body just couldn't cope with the artificial hormones.

Hope you start to feel well soon smile
