Right ear ringing

Occasionally my right ear rings like a hi pitched mattalic whine. I never had this problem until I started putting olive oil ear drops in my ear once a week. Always had white noise my my ears, but since January it got worse. I try to ignore it, but the noise seems to override it. My ear over produces wax, had a shringed before Christmas. My fault because wen my ears itched I used cotton buds. So I've probably ruined my hearing.
