right kidney get's painful

Hi, i am new here and i need some advise to help me figure out what is wrong, I am a 46 year old white female who had a hysterectomy on april 4th of this year, during the surgery i aquired a bladder hole accidently on the surgeons part, i was under during this, anyway i woke up with a foley catheter in me that i hafd to have in me for 14 day's, during those 14 day's, i got a UTI, i i have stnt's in my kidney's which the urologist put in from my kidney's to my bladder, i get them removed in a couple week's, may 15th to be exact, the urologist had to stitch the hole in my bladder as well during surgery, anyway, i had to make a appointment at the office of the urologist because of the UTI, i got this infection from the catheter at the hospital, the nurse practioner at the urologist gave me a week supply of anitibiotics which didn't clear it up, on the 18th when i went back to have the catheter taken out, i told them i needed a refill on my antibiotic's, the urologest asked me how did i know, i told him i still had the burning sensation, he said it was from the catheter, i was never showd how to clean the catheter or the bag from the urologist or the nurses, i learned how to from the web, 2 day's later i called the urologist office and told them i had increased pain in my back and bladder, urinating more and had a appointment to come in to do a urine culture, the nurse practioner gave me anitibiotics to fight the infection over the weekened, she said she was going to send the urine culture out to have it looked at, (my urine culture came out dark), so today i get a phone call from the urologist saying my urine culture came back positive showing i still have a infection, so i was prescribed another 3 day anitibiotics, in the mean time, my right side where my kidney is get's real soar and painful. the last time i had a UTI was in my 20's, before i got the hysterectomy, they took a urine sample and blood work and i was completely healthy before the surgery, it's going on 4 week's now and i am still batteling it, i also take QC AZO, CRANBERRY tablet's for the burning, but i am so afraaid of developing kidney damage, i also have a order for a cystoscopy, any feedback would be appreciated, i am going crazycry

    I am so sorry you are going through this. I feel the surgeon messed you up big time. All the oral antibiotics don't seem to be working. I would dand theyget to the bottom of this. You may need iv antibiotics

    Certain ones are hsrd on the kidney. Hope u get help soon.

      Sorry for the misspelling. My sister was on Bactrim. Messed her kidneys up, but she has kidney disease. Don't let them give u a song and dance. You have to push them to help you.

      Thank you so much Neffie, i am getting to the bottom of this, you know when something is not right with your body and you have to fight with the doctor's for them to do something, i have never had a mistake done on me during surgery, this will be the last time god willing, i have suffered so much from the woman surgeon's mistake that i have been up and down on a emotional rollercoaster, i get angry at her because of all the pain and suffering i'm going through and i just want to scream, thank you for replying back as i need someone to talk too, i have even criedredface

      it's ok, i'm sure you seen my misspelling in my post, lol, i am so sorry to hear about your sister, my heart go's out to her and you, i am having them check me through what ever men's is necessary because i don't trust them and i want to live, Thank you once again confused

    Today, there is no compassion or human factor with some doctor's.  You be your own advocate, and you tell them someone better get to the route of your problems, and that you are suffering fron their mistake.   I take my sister to all her appointments, and I open my mouth to the doctors.  They need to be compassionate. They took an oath to help people,  not to just make that almghty dollar.  I get results too.   When my sister was on the bactrim, her kidney came back almost renal failure.  PCP sent us to kidney doctor.  I told her exactly what was the problem. I research everything.  I told her she needs the bloodwork redone, since she was off the antibiotic.  She agreed.  Took her back, her numbers improved immensley.  Just research everything, and believe me, you will diagnose yourself before they do.  Let me know what's going on with you.  i am sure you are scared, but I think you will be fine.   Just get on that phone, and demand from them.  They are doctors, not God.  It is your body.

      You are so right, the urologist called me yesterday about my urine culture and she said it did come back positive that i still have the infection, i'm thinking, "I TOLD YOU SO", so now i got three more day's of Ciplo antibiotics to take and the 17th i have a cystoscopy done, so hopefully i am getting somewhere. I am glad that your sister is having some improvement and good for you for speaking up for her, you have to do that any more for the doctor's to do their job right, i am going to have the urologist give me a order to have my kidney's checked out also, better to be safe than sorry, i will keep you updated as how i am doing, thank you for talking to me and the encouragement, as it really help's through all of this suffering, God bless youconfused

    So glad u r getting somewhere.my name is Stephanie. Neffie is a nickname my niece gave me when she wass little, she couldn't say my name. Lol
