Right shoulder AC joint separation

I crashed my roommates motorcycle and flipped over the handlebars August 27. I went to the hospital right away and told them that my right shoulder was dislocated. They took x-rays and determined it wasn't dislocated and they failed to recognize that my shoulder was in fact separated. I was in awful pain from the road rash, so i ignored my shoulder because I trusted their expertise. 3 weeks after my accident my road rash was feeling a lot better and made me realize how bad my shoulder actually hurt. I went in to an orthopedic surgeon and he told me I have a grade 2/3 separation, he couldn't tell from the x-ray alone so he told me rest and let it heal and check back up with him. This was about 2 weeks ago. Today (9/27/19) I decided to get a second opinion from a separate doctor and he was scarily confident that I have a grade 2 and not a grade 3. From all the research I have done and living with this on a day to day basis, I really think I have a grade 3 separation. My theory is I have tore my acrominoclavicular ligament completely, and tore my left coracoclavicular ligament and my right is hanging on by a thread possibly? Would this be considered a severe grade 2 or maybe a grade 3? If anyone knows anything that could help please comment below!! I am 20 years old and am worried about my future because I love working out and playing sports. Even if its a guess it could help point me in the right direction to help me recover. Thank you!!

Note: No hanging weights were used in the x-rays!

Hiya, you poor thing. This is a coincidence as I have just left hospital tonight after a similar injury to my left shoulder. Mine is dislocated and has two hairline fractures as well. I am no expert but have been a nurse for 40 years and run a clinic in a remote area, mainly for the very poor. I have seen this type of injury several times and nearly always due to motor bike accidents. Mine wasn't but I tried to push a heavy couch out of the way and got what is known as a "push injuy" The pain was unbearable so after "hanging in there' for 11 days I decided enough was enough and went to hospital. Nurses are not good patients lol...The X Rays showed the dislocation and fractures and I was admitted to the ward with a drip in my right arm administering Tramadol for pain. As I am familiar with most of the doctors there I chose to discuss this with the orthopedic specialist. He told me not to move my left arm at all....and put it in a sling. The options were this...operate to put it all back to it's rightful place and/or to rest it and use the right medication for 6weeks or so, and have physio therapy. So I have been having infra red light on the area and also a TENS machine which was very helpful...Tramadol injections have been such a relief, they put it in the drip 3 times a day. Also Diazepam 5 mg x 2 at night to relax muscle spasms. Yours is a serious injury and can adversely affect other parts of the body resulting in more problems for you. Please get the best opinion you can from the top specialist you can find..I'd give you a big hug if we both could manage it...but I guess that can wait till we are both well again...Good Luck and gentle hugs...Gloria
