I have the worst ever anxiety symptom rn

It's a 24//7 high pitched buzzing in my ear/head the symptom may b referred to as tinnitus

It's making me depressed and I admitted myself to th ED. I have the all clear that ears, sinus and head is fine

I'm on medication now to treat the anxiety/stress in my body

I have had the noise for 8 days now

Has anyone had this symptom and how long till it went away

My psychiatrist assured me the buzzing noise will stop but I feel I need constant reassurance

Yes millions of people have tinnitus. Some get it from anxiety, some have issues with the inner ear, but for many, the cause is unknown.

I have had it for a long time but after a while, I don't notice it like I used to.

The brain tends to ignore it when it goes on for a long time.

When there  is noise in the room like the TV, people talking, etc. I don't hear it at all.

when I lay down to sleep I listen to audio meditations for anxiety with earbuds on you tube, so I don't hear it then.

Some have it a long time, others a short time.

But you can play music at night with earbuds, listen to meditations for stress, etc

Mines really loud I can not block it out

And I can not sleep through it

I'm just wanting it to go away once my stress diminishes from my body I was hoping someone who got it from extreme anxiety has a similiar story and it went away sad

Mine was definitely louder in the beginning but then it began to die down after a few months .

but I do notice when I'm more anxious it's actually louder.

Hi. My brother has tinnitus, has ear problems. His is always there, constant and loud. I get it with anxiety( yet another symptom) mine is very low but when it's quiet around me I notice it. Like other post I just ignore it. It's not harmful, just there. Yours seems to be loud to the point of getting you down , I would ask to be referred to ENT specialist, could be inner ear, best to know for sure??

Sorry thought you just went to regular doctor. Horrible if the buzzing/ ringing is really loud, mine seems worse if I notice it and then of course I think it's worse, sorry yours is loud, feel for you, wish could help more, my brother as I said has to put up with it, hope yours goes, even if it comes and goes would be better than constant, has your gp seen it this bad before? Hope it goes and you get some peace🤞🏻??

Hi Riri, yours sounds like an anxiety symptom abd should go hopefully soon. I've got tinnitus in my right ear, I'm a musician (drummer) and never protected my ears so hence I got the condition. I very rarely notice it as my brain has switched off listening to it.

    Hope yours goes soon.

      Hi Riri,

Don’t know if you are still answering, but I was wondering if tournament tinnitus went away?  I had extreme anxiety about 3 months and developed tinnitus. Not too loud but it’s annoying.

I had it but eventually discovered I had hypothyroidism which also causes fatigue and may trigger anxiety. Have you had any blood work done? Might be a good idea to at least rule it out.
