I just had a total hip replaced 5 weeks ago. I LOVE  my rise and recline chair, have found it so comfortsble to sit in ,just wondering if anyone else has used one throughout their convalesing period if so which make and model do they have .

Mine is cosi jubilee waterfall back tilt & rise recliner. It was quite expensive but worth every penny 😀

I don't have one. But your smart to get one. Getting up and down is hard at first.

How ever I'm getting one That just reclines sits up not stand up. Looking forward to getting it here. It takes 6wks to get it made and sent here.

The recliner i have, i actually got stuck in. I went to recline but i couldn't push the foot down to sit up.this recliner did not have a handle to release the foot. This was a love seat. So i scooted over to the other side to get up. I never thought i would get stuck in a recliner.

I'm now 2 and years post open and ding great.

Hope your new chair arrives soon ,I am sure you will love it .Quite often you do have to wait about 6 weeks for it to be made and delivered . Think I was lucky as they had one left in stock ,but still took about 10 days to get .My chair has a back up battery section so fingers crossed I don't get stuck.

Sounds like you have recovered well ,great to hear 😀

I've just been sitting on an electric recliner chair, I put pillows on the seat to raise it a bit, it's been fantastic, don't know what I'd have done without it.

      Hi Julie

Glad you love your chair too ,so many people do recommend them and everyone says they wouldnt be without one .😀

      Hope your recovering well

Will they take away your old chair when they deliver?

I never had an old chair to be taken away . I suppose depends on the individual company .

That sounds just great Suziemo - I had a recliner, but I had to build a six inch base to raise it so that I did not bereak the 90 degree rule.

It was so comfortable, and great for sleeping in when I just could not get comfortable in bed.

Yes they are so comfy aren't they . I tried so many and it's surprising how much they vary in size ,comfort and price. luckily mine was at the perfect height for me of 17inches at the lowest ( bit of a shorty )

But then you can't put a price on comfort can you . So many people have trouble sleeping on their back and say it was a gods send having one to sleeping in . Luckily I have been sleeping well on my back in bed ,but I do admit to the odd little nap in the day in my chair too 😀

Pleased to hear so many people feel the same way ,always good to hear from like minded people.

      With best wishes

Hi, I bought a recliner and tilt armchair before my operation and it's been invaluable (sat in it right now !) You're right they're not cheap but DFS (UK) where I bought mine from couldn't have been more helpful (found me one ex display and got it to me within 3 days !) I've slept in it a couple of times if I was uncomfortable in bed and although I don't use the tilt that often to stand up I can raise the seat at an angle to sit on. Would have been so uncomfortable without it. Lisa.

      Hi Lisa

lovely to hear . Snap I am sitting in mine at the moment too 😀

Pleased to hear that you are delighted with your chair too . Think you need to have one to really appreciate how comfy they are. If it helps us recover then that's what is most important

Pleased it has certainly helped my swelling to go down a bit being able to raise my legs up too 😀

      With best wishes

We get into trouble for naming brands that help us! A load of us got told off the other day for telling people about brands of pillows that helped us sleep.

      you're right  Beth ---

however, you can always send a PM to member directly by  using the envelope underneath name when you want to mention a brand ...

I think that you can describe the features of recliner safely = without interference from moderator -

unfortunately I never had one ....

      big warm hug

Neither did I - I have a large house but it is old so the space is creatively used. My living room is compact - not small, but it would have meant using the space less well and getting rid of something I dearly love. So i didn't get one - decided that I would wait and see. I'm glad I did because I haven't missed having one at all, and they aren't the sort of chairs that I have ever really been attracted to, so I couldn't see me wating it in the longer term anyway.

Saved myself a lot of money on that.

Yes good idea Renee any info can be shared by using the envelope ,maybe some don't realise this. With best wishes

      Hope your well Renee

I've been thinking about getting one but they are very expensive. I wonder if Medicare will help pay for one.

You should be able to get it VAT free which reduces the price by twenty per cent.

Just realised you are not in UK, so I am talking rubbish.
