Risk of HIV transmission

hi everyone,

I'm a 30 yo Asian male in Cambodia. I am so terrified now that I think I might be exposed to HIV. About 3 weeks ago, I had sex with a prostitute in Cambodia and alcohol was involved. During sex, first, she gave me oral sex for awhile and then I put on the condom. After about 10min of having sex, my penis felt uncomfortable and I decided to take off the condom and use a new condom. But before I put on the new condom, I made a huge mistake to let my urethra (tip of my penis) touched her vaginal and her vaginal fluid for a while before putting on a new condom and finish the sex. After that, I threw away the condom and I did clean my penis but I don't think I have cleaned it properly until the next morning. In the morning the next day, I realized that the skin layer on my corona of glans and neck of glans was slightly peel. This really makes me worried and scared. I don't know if I can get HIV through the peeled skin. Her HIV status is unknown.

Currently (3 weeks after the sex), I'm having a bad sore throat, a minor headache, and muscle tightness and aches. Btw, I have been having a sore throat for like 2 weeks now and the muscle tightness/aches are just only for a few days. And also I feel quite tired the last few days. Also I seem to lose my appetite and losing weigh. My question is that base on my scenario of the sex, am I at high risk of getting infected with HIV? Or my mind is playing tricks on me? Please please provide some answer. I'm so terrified now.

Sincerely,

Sou

The risk you described is very low, but if it's about 4 week after exposure it's a good time to have a 4th generation elisa test, please do the test and stop searching google, let us know the results and celebrate.

      Hi aahmad,

Thank you for your response. Currently I'm having a massive HIV scare. I will have a test just to put my mind to rest. My health anxiety is getting worse from reading all these posts om google and experiencing some of the symptoms. Hopefully, everything is in my mind only.

    Hi,

I went through exact same thing as you like 3 years ago I too convinced my self I had Caught HIV I started off as a sore throat like you then I googled my symptoms and over the next 6 weeks I imagined I had lumps in my neck, chest rash’s, fatigue, and flu like symptoms.. I can 100% say you don’t have HIV however go get a test done for complete peace of mind .. I did and once it came back clear all my symptoms magically disappeared

    Good luck

      Hi Dhalism,

Thank you for ur response. I am going to get tested in a week also (5 weeks from the exposure). Then get tested again at 12 weeks. My sore throat is getting much better. The most worrisome for my now is that my leg tights and shoulder and left hand are still a bit sore which is kinda weird because I don't do any heavy lifting recently. This kinda worry me at some level.

Same situation bro. I have more symptoms than you but tested negative at 12 weeks. I still have symptoms though. My test reduced my anxiety to half. Get tested bro. If not you will fall in serious depression as I did.Its Better to know. I regret my mistake so bad but it's life. Always move forward and learn from this. Never visit prostitutes again. Better masturbate at home 😂. I wish you all the Luck possible.

      Hi Ricky,

It's good to hear that you tested negative at 12 weeks but I'm sorry to hear u still have anxiety. Currently, I'm getting better but my leg tights/shoulder/left hand are still a bit sore. This worries me at some level but my anxiety is a bit calm now. I'm going to get tested in a week or so and again at 12 weeks just to be sure. I hope u are getting better with ur anxiety and yes lesson learned 😁
