Rivaroxaban 10 weeks in

Hi Everyone,

Me again, I am 10 weeks in on Rivaroxaban having been changed from warfarin because of its contraindication with so amany other drugs, and food. I am experiencing lack of general strength and energy and extreme weakness in my arms and legs especially when i get up in the morning, has anyone else experienced this? if so does it get better the longer you take them.

re my last post about days of constant Afib, last year my surgery closed so had to go too new one (not good when you have long term problems as they don't know you) having had the almost constant Afib for nearly a week I rang yesterday to see someone and by sheer chance my previous GP was was working there as a locum for the day so I grabbed the chance to see him and low and behold knowing me as he does he was onto the reason for the flare up, moral of the story is the need for continuity of care when you have a long term condition.

pity I didn't think to ask him about the weakness etc but you can't think of everything as I am always aware that you only get 10 mins.

Hello, about 5 months now and still it often feels like someone put a sand bag on my shoulders. Stupid tired. My arms fall asleep while resting in or on my chair. But, I REALLY don't know if it's me the Med's or both.  I am going to have an Ablation and loop next week. Good luck to us all. It's called it a "Practice" for a reason.

      Hi Mike,

All the best with the ablation and loop I hope it goes well, I think probably the meds are to blame for the other stuff as I am exoeriencing the same. jst as a matter of interest did you by any chance loose any weight when you first started the rivaroxaban.

      Good luck

Most of my weight loss was from water. When I crashed they pulled 2 liters of fluid out of my blood and lost 45 lbs.  and now 65 lbs so I would have to say yes it is a factor.
