Rivaroxaban and anxiety / paranoia??

Posted , 5 users are following.

Hi all strange question ,

I have been on rivaroxaban since feb 2016 due to multiple bilateral embolisms, and I have noticed in the last 3 or 4 months I have been getting increasingly anxious and stressed and maybe paranoid as well... I have had no recent changes that should make this so but it is and I am wondering has anyone else had this ? Also I am more sweaty and literally shaky ?

Anyone else having the same issue ??

Has anyone been taken of rivaroxaban for anything else better ?

Regards

James

Hi Jimmy. I have been on Apixaban for just over a year now. Much the same as you. Did you have a scan to check clots have dispersed?. All my doctor said when I asked was . "Don't worry they have gone. !!" Still get anxiety. 😲

Hi there , yes clots have gone , need to be on thinners of some sort due to being factor v Leiden positive , but the anxiety has happened way after clots dispersed and from nothing else I can think of . So it’s worrying as I do get really like run and hide anxious and all sweaty and panicky

    Hi,

I had to be taken off rivaroxaban for another side effect and am now on pradaxa but that's  taken twice daily. Now I have read here and listened to people where I'm from, Anxiety is very common amongst PE sufferers not from the medication but from the fact we have suffered a life changing event and it can play havoc in the psychological department of our mind/body. Could be possible the medication could be a root cause, as I always say never say never, anything is possible even though anxiety and paranoia is not listed as a side effect, either common, intermediate or in the rare categories. Best bet is to speak with your cardiologist/specialist or even your GP about your concern.

Agreeing with everyone. Oct 31,16 they found my huge PE. I still talk like I still have it although I think it’s gone and all that’s left is scar tissue. I worry sometimes I have another one could have sworn I threw another at the end of our 7 week road trip across America. I’m probably just paranoid. I’ll ask her to take a cat scan next time I see her to be sure.
