Rivaroxaban - muscle aches

Posted , 5 users are following.

I had been on warfarin for 16 years and since January 2017 I was switched to Rivaroxaban, about 4 weeks ago I have noticed extreme muscle aches, like my lower back, my right leg, I get out of bed and feels like I have been exercising all night...has anyone experienced this on Riva?

I am only 36 but feel 100 when I get out of bed....

    Hi Kay

I have been on rivaoxaban since December after having a PE. No problems at all. Do get checked out with the doc though.

    Hi Kay,

Sorry for the late reply - I have strayed from the PE group and saw your post.

Yes, I had very similar experiences when taking Rivaroxaban - aches just about everywhere and horrendous pain in my left knee, back, neck and throat.  My wife was really worried and called the specialist, who immediately switched me from on to warfarin. The pain etc. abated.  (I also had bleeding on rivaroxaban and this stopped within 36 hours of my ceasing the drug).

This was a year ago and I have been on warfarin ever since.
