Hi all 11wks this Thursday I had my new knee been to hell and back like most of us have at the moment the stiffness is driving me mad I can manage the pain until it goes into the hip but I put that down to not walking right I’m getting concerned about the burning I have in the middle of the knee does anyone have any advice

    Voltaren Gel.  RX in the US, generic diclofenac elsewhere.  Check for interactions with your other meds but those seem to be rare.  Great topical anti-inflammatory and pain killer.  Use it a few times a day and especially at bedtime.  There's also OTC AsperCream with 4% Lidocaine or plain Lidocaine patches if it's nerve pain.  Both worked great for me at that early stage.

    Hi Kathleen I used voltarol behind my knee at bed time it meant my knee wasn't as stiff in the morning and I think it helped me. Once you're past the 4 month mark it will improve. Personally I found once I'd reached 5months my quality of life had returned. Walking normal no pain killers sleeping any which way I want it does get better. Glad I got mine done had doubts initially, but time does heal and with a tkr you need this time to recover. Good luck chin up

      Thanks Ann happy to try anything I’ve been using ginger  essential oil  in moisturiser as that is supposed to help with pain not looking forward to the left being done but as u say time heals and to be total pain free will be great no fun getting old and having problems stay strong keep positive xx
