Rocking/tilting/swaying sensation.. anyone?

Posted , 7 users are following.

This has been going on for about 6 months:(

I am postmeno 1 1/2 yrs in. Peri was a breeze compared to this.

I feel unsteady, like I'm rocking. When I lie flat, it feels exactly like I'm floating on a raft or boat. When I walk, it feels like I'm moving up and down, the steps are scary especially.

I never actually fall. It's more like a sensation. But it's bad... especially the "pulling feeling" like back to front.

Is this hormone related? Because I can feel they are all SO LOW. Been to Urgent Care 3x , + ER and they all chalk it up to anxiety. Ears are fine, neuro clear

WHAT is this?? Anyone else with this symptom?

Thanks y'all

    Hi Stella,

I'm certain that this is hormone-related, and I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I have similar feelings, that have been particularly intense as of late: zinging in my body, feeling outside of my body, internal shaking / vibrations, unsteadiness, clumsiness, tingling, numbness, pulsing sensations throughout my body. It's unbelievable!! I try to distract myself, whenever possible, and work, for me, has been a good distraction. It's so strange how some women go through peri with mild symptoms only to have horrible symptoms in post-menopause and vice versa. One day perhaps doctors will actually understand this and be able to help. Sending you hugs xo

omg, that sounds awful! but i had all of your symptoms as well. i truly envy those women who fly smoothly through perimenopause. my sister did for example. but she got a whole bunch of other deceases. not sure if that's better. I'm 51 now and my symptoms are getting milder. still there, but a bit less harsh. or maybe i just got used to feel like crap so often. I've been having symptoms since almost ten years now. i should be teaching the end soon, i hope. good luck to all of us. hand in there...

If you don't mind me asking are you still getting regular periods ? Been 6 yrs peri , i am 48 and still getting regular periods.

yes, but i had this badly in the first 5 years of Peri. nope only mildly around ovulation and bevor period. it seems that some have it after they stopped bleeding. i wonder whether that means that I'll be done with that sensation once i stopped.

Stella I have been there. 6 yrs ago when peri began i felt like what your now feeling. I cried everyday non stop. The rocking feeling, the swaying, the floor feeling unbalanced, the feeling of falling, laying flat the room spinning. nausea and the list goes on. Tonight for me is head pressure and a weird sensation in the middle of my head. A little shakiness plus uterus pain and nausea. I hate all of this, only God knows how much I hate it. Yes this is all hormone related believe it or not. find comfort knowing that you are not alone in this madness. God bless.

omg! iwould have written this post! it’s exactly how i feel ditto. scared to close my eyes it’s like rocking, swaying, as if I’m floating in water sensation! moving up and down kind of sensation as you have while walking . pulling feeling like a strong magnetic pulling or something and it’s there 24/7 , has me been there for 2 weeks now. I’m so fearful this isa new symptom for me. didn’t think it’s hormones related , but neuro tests are all okay .

I’d be relieved to know if it’s the hormones.

it’s so frustrating because this is in addition to many other symptoms that’s going on 😦

    hugs and prayers ❤
