Rosacea, Lupus, or neither?

Hi,

I'm a female in my mid 20's. A couple years ago or so I developed a come and go rash on my face. Saw my GP and he gave me a lotion (for rosacea) which helped with when I got spots, but made no difference to the hot rash. The rash now spreads onto my chest, patchy down my arms and my hands can swell, go bright red and itch/ burn. I have noticed certain triggers such as alcohol, stress and evening time in general.

I'm wondering whether this is rosacea or not as it isn't just on my face, and as I have another autoimmune disease I'm aware this can increase risk of others such as lupus (SLE).

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas, or similar experiences.

Pics attached. Thank you for reading all my post 😃

Based on your history it is likely immune related. The good news is that it just looks like nice rosy cheeks 😃. Find your food triggers and cut them out religiously.

Hi yes, I have another auto immune condition and get the rash. I am in remission at the moment so not happening currently particularly but did get it in the past. Have nothing to suggest for dealing with it I'm afraid, even on medication I never really got rid of it. Maybe for a short time on steroids but I've never taken steroids on a long term basis and hope I never have to. It is always possible to get a second auto immune condition when you already have one. But I think the 'Lupus rash' is common in other ai conditions.
