This is my first post to fellow rosacea sufferers, but I remember the early days of desparation and wanted to share something that has been a life saver for me.  No cure but huge relief when I'm having a flare up.  What I use is plain old calamine lotion.  Unfortunately the pink color makes it only useful when you aren't out in public, but when I'm home and my face flushes I just slather it on.  I look a bit silly but it immediately takes away the burning sensation which is a huge relief, and even if I wash it off after only a short time the redness has faded or even dissappeared.  I've tried a lot of the prescriptions to no avail but the calamine lotion for immediate relief, and trying to avoid my triggers (overheating, alchohol, and stress are the worst) have really made this condition pretty easy to live with.  I even left the calamine lotion on overnight when it was really bad but I rarely have to do that anymore.  Don't despair, you'll get a handle on it, and good luck!

Thank you for sharing! Googling calamine lotion, with images, there are so many different labels. Could you please tell me which brand you are using (..colors on the labels etc.?). Since yours works so well, I would really like to order the same. It will cost a bit too, with the shipping and everything, so I hope you could please assist with this info?

I been to doctors they prescribed me some metronidazole gel and lymecycline capsules to take for 3 months. My doctor says if that don't help he'll send me to a dermatologist.

I was thinking of purchasing the sheer cover make up for nights out as I'm quite conscious about it. I'll wait to see what the meds prescribed to me do first .

Well, I'm in the U.S. and I just get whatever the pharmacy store brand of calamine lotion is.  It is really cheap so I have some at home and in my travel bag.  It is 8% calamine and 8% zinc oxide.  I've used the metrogel and doxycycline and I dont think they helped but they didn't hurt so it's worth a try.  The only other thing I use is Clinique Redness Solution powder when I'm going out.  It's yellow and does quite a good job toning down the red.  I don't need it much anymore but the summer heat can be a problem.

I notion red blotchy skin from my rosacea was just something i was going to need to live with. I didn't want to use dangerous prescriptive drugs. I stumbled upon Dermalmd Psoriasis Serum , and with the great price, I figured I had nothing to lose. The first time I applied it i was so inspired. It has a right away cooling sensation on the pores and skin, a non greasy formulation and absorbed quick. within minutes my redness was gone. I was in shock. I stopped needing to put on foundation to cover my blotchiness ..I love dermalmd serum and can't believe my life without it now!! Similarly I'm able to feel good knowing I'm putting healthy ingredients on my skin:)
