Rotary Cuff injury Diagnosis

Hi,

About 9 days ago I was leaning on my left elbow on the couch. Out of nowhere I got sudden excruciating pains from the top of my shoulder all the way down to my elbow.

It wasn't t pleasant went to the Dr's on Monday last week and she diagnosed me with a Rotary Cuff injury.

I'm currently waiting to hear back from the physiotherapy department for a appointment.

I'm currently taking paracetamol and Ibuprofen cream (I can't take Ibuprofen tablets), which is not helping me at all.

The pain is a constant dull ache and feels like a inflammation pain.

Should I phone up my Doctors and arrange for another appointment?

Call the PT yourself to schedule. They always say they are going to call you but I find they rarely do. No sense calling the doctor. There’s really nothing he can do unless PT fails.

I think they'll have to do an MRI to be sure it's a tear. Bursitis can give a dull painful ache and a shot can usually take care of that. Make sure it's a tear before you let anyone cut on you.

AFTER 4 WEEKS HAD A INJECTION IN SHOULDER WHICH DID HELP. THEN WENT FOR PHYSIO THAT DIDNT WORK .STILL HAVE DIFFICULTY USING MY ARM IN CERTAIN POSITIONS BUT DR HAS GIVEN ME NO FURTHER OPTIONS.BUT DO ASK FOR A SCAN YOU MIGHT HAVE BETTER LUCK WITH YOUR DR. GOOD LUCK.

maybe the Dr could give you a cortisone injection. Are you using cold packs? Cold can help with inflammation. Hopefully you will get to see someone from therapy soon and they can make some recommendations for you. Hope you heal quickly.
