Rotator cuff recovery and central pain syndrome

I am 4 1/2 weeks from surgery. Rotator Cuff and bicep reattached. I am 67, had a stroke 5 years ago, which causes on going pain on my left side.I am getting lots of pain in my left hand because my brain can't isolate where it actually hurts. This, coupled with the overall pain is really frustrating. Painkillers don't work on the phantom type pain. CBD oil is somewhat helpful. Anyone else dealing with this? very frustrated, I am generally pretty tough, this is so relentless.
