Just to say 16 weeks after having total hip replacement I have just cut my toe nails and put nail polish on for the first time. Haven't been able to do that for a least two yrs by myself. So pleased and happy . thought I share with all fellow hippies out there .

Well done you must be thrilled. Do you mind me asking. Did you have to have injections in your tummy? I am due for my hip on march 2nd, I am a total nervous wreck as I suffer from acute anxiety. I am having it done in the Nuffield in woking, but under the NHS . Regards Amandah

      Diane,

Β I live in the U.S. and had a THR in Sept.and had no shots,Β so the comments about the shots in the stomach are surprising to me. What are those for?

      Thank you,

      Kathee

Oh, ok thank you Diane! I had to take 350 mg of aspirin twice a day for 30 days after my surgery.

Hi Diane, I am really going to plead witht he consultant that I really cant do this. They will give it orally in tablet form. But we will see what happens. I might have to delay the op as my husband is not too well, he has got pleurisy, and is not well at all. Regards amandahΒ

Hi Amanda, you could always get the district nurse to come and do them? Honestly though, they are no big deal.
