Running 5km reduces my bloodpressure

Posted , 4 users are following.

I have noticed that if I jog for 5km and take my reading after 10 mins I completed the run, my blood pressure is low at 116/68, however this effect is short lived for few hours about 7 hours. The following day if i dont run the bloodpressure rises. What is it that drop the pressure after running? I know they say we must not take the pressure reading after shower/bathing. Out of curiocity this morning I measure my bloodpressure when i woke up, it read 134/81, I took a shower and after that measured again, this time the reading was 120/68. What is it in the shower or bath drops the pressure or the machine cant work properly after the shower?

So what your saying is you have normal bp unless your stressed, that's pretty normal I would say, so what's your query

I thought my querie was clear. Normal BP is 120/80 and less. Anyway, i will give you my background. I was diagnosed with essential hypertension and put on different meds which give me all sorts of side effects until my specialist doctor found Lorsatan for me. which worked to lower my bloodpressure. Before I accepted medication, i tried diets and herbs, it did not work. I am a perfect weight with perfect BMI, no any other underlying health problems i know about. Although Lorsatan worked to lower my bloodpressure but it went even too lower and the Doctor ordered that i should take half a pill. The other problem I had is that the Lorsatan eventually increased my uric acid and experienced horrible painful episode at night from my big righthand toe. Also at the Doctor's room my bloodpressure remain high because I stress at Doctor's room. So my specialist Doctor ended up saying my bloodpressure is emotional bloodpressure. i am off Lorsatan now and use indian snake root and blackseed oil with success and no side effect, however when stress my bloodpressure rise anyway. The other thing, is all of my siblings are hypertensive and on medication. My Mom took medication religiously for Hypertension for many years and passed on this year due to a stroke.

I read that hot water relaxes your arteries and pressure decreases and it does reduce it only for a short while ,it'll come back to normal soon after. I was told to take medicine before bed as it will work better while your asleep and you won't wake up high bp. Exercise is a good kind of Increased blood pressure, your circulating blood just fine. Salt intake affects pressure so don't eat late. During the day you can flush it out by sweating and drinking water, keeping system flushed

Thank you Jesse, but it seems like excercise benefit is also short lived. I was wondering with this question if the benefit of lowered pressure can be sustained.

SBO..any booklet you get with a home monitor will tell you that you shouldn't take by readings within 30 min of exercise, bathing, showering, drinking alcohol, coffee, tea, etc.etc...& one should sit for a few minutes to completely relax before taking the readings.

I'm positive your machine is just fine. It's what you're doing that's the problem.

I know thats what they say, thats why my first reading was before i did all those. It was just curiocity as to what the effect will be after i showered. So my results was that after shower my bloodpressure is lower than before shower. My question was why? and how can that effect be sustained?

I see now why your asking, OK your bp is actually not bad for someone who has no family history, but because you do then maybe its higher than would be felt exceptable by your GP/specialist, I also presuming your not in UK because if you were I still don't think you would be medicated with that level of bp so long as it was stable, every bodies bp rises with stress, that's perfectly normal and so long as it doesn't reach crises levels on a very regular basis then again that is quite normal.bp is also higher when you first get up,

I am inclined to think I would go with specialists opinion, did your mum have any contributory factors other than high bp? Like smoking, overweight, sefantry, diabetes etc
