Running after Big toe fusion

Hi had fusion op on left big toe sep 2014. Recovery is going to plan, however I am wondering when or if I can start jogging/running on a treadmill. Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Opinions among the professional are mixed.A fused big toe alters the biomecanics and can potentially create issues further up the biomecanical chain(knee and hip). Some podistrasts recomed cousrumized running shoes(grafite insteps and push up of the 1st.to

    with some sucess.

Also, start by walking on the treadmill, moving gradually up to interval sessions.I garantee you will experince PAIN in the beginning. But no pain,no gain or do like this physio almost 58 with a whole range of foot issues,I taken up offroad cycling.Much more fun !
