Running with the big H

Is there anybody on here that does a lot of running while trying to deal with this?

Since finding out I have HSV 2, 4 years ago I started exercising. I have since entered quite a few events and the distances are getting longer and longer. But with this I have started to suffer with more feelings of an outbreak coming. I take acyclivor twice a day but this doesn't seem to stop an outbreak when I have been running or even after sex. It normally comes a couple of days after the run/sex. I try taking extra meds to stop it but it still comes through. Is there anything else I can do to help prevent these outbreaks?

Sounds like friction is your enemey... I recommend Vaseline in places that rub on your genitals and creases where your leg meets your groin. Are you guys using a good silicone or water based lube for sex?

We are not using any lube. Would that make a difference even if I have a condom on?

Where is the location of the ob? Have you guys ever considered the female condom? It is not only more pleasurable for both parties, but provides more protection for the female, because it covers the labia. It also cones w a silicone based lube and upon penetration, the female condom actually heats up and can be felt by both parties. The ring on the outside lies over the clitoris and provides extra stimulation for the female. I highly suggest you guys tey that. It also is not latex. Which many people are have sensitivities yo latex and this other stuff is just as durable, if noy more and thinner than latex in the female condom.

After sex I normally get a single blister on the tip of my penis. I might give the female condom a try. Maybe I could turn it into a bit of fun rather than sounding like What I've got is making things hard for us. It is important for me to try to live as normal as I can with this.

After running I feel like I've got an OB on the skin between my anus and penis. I can't really see properly but it always feels sore. Not sure if that is just chaffing or not.

When I take the extra meds I also worry that I am not doing my body any good. I've heard that acyclivor isn't good for our liver. Is 3 a day every now and then going to harm me?

Well it's recommended to put a dab of lube on the tip of the penis before putting the condom on anyway. Sounds like hitting her cervix may be causing the trauma possibly, leading to an ob.

I would def try to use Vaseline there and see if it helps w chaffing when you run. Hand mirror and small flashlight help allow you to see in those hard to reach places. Lay in back, knees to chest and do a reach around. ;-)

I think as long as you are not a raging alcoholic and are not experiencing back pain, not to worry about it. If it makes you feel better, go in for testing wvrfu 3 mo this to have your liver enzymes checked. As long as you're in a relationship, I recommend staying on it. Just make sure you are drinking plenty of water so your liver can function optimally and not have issues w flushing toxins out and you should be good. I have a friend who has been on meds for a decade and she's healthy.

Thanks for that feelbroken. I'm starting to feel like you are my own personal doctor/ shrink for the big H. 😃😃

Although recieving a message involving the words "reach around" could be taken out of context. 😜😜

Thanks again. Hope all is well with you.

Hahaha! Your message made me laugh. The reach around comment was intentional. I wanted to make you laugh, because we have to find humor in our situation, especially being it doesn't leave for much modesty. :-p

Let me know how everything works out!
