Ruptured ear drum from ear infection

Hi everyone this morning after 4 hrs of intense pressure from a new earinfection after I saw the Dr. My drum ruptured. Felt better for a while, but the infection is still there and my ear has been draining blood pretty much all day. Is this normal? It is now night and the pressure is worse. I every so often hear what I think is the tare in my ear move or it's fluid. Can't tell. I just want to make sure this seems somewhat normal for have an earinfection and will lessen as the infection subsides. I've never had this happen and it's bothering me. Thanks

    Morning Matthew,

I've suffered several perforations in my left eardrum and one time many years ago the muck that tried

to drain out was horrible.  Can't say there was blood present though.  Did it perforate on it's own from the

pressure behind your eardrum, or did you try to blow through your nose to try and pop it ??

If I were you, I'd get myself off to the doctor and get on a course of antibiotics to protect yourself.  The mucus

has obviously turned bacterial.  The hole is tiny and not all the muck can drain out so it will sit there, just like

mine did many years ago, eventually leading me to get Bacterial Meningitis.  The bacteria crossed the Blood/ Brian barrier and I was seriously ill, losing the sight in my left eye and hearing down in my right ear.

    Never leave ear infections.

Yes it blew from the pressure and I'm currently on antibiotics for the infection and antibiotic ear drops. Seems to be less pressure today and not as much drainage. I read the ear drum is full of blood vessels and would make sense it would be in there with the drainage.
