Sacral nerve stimulator for fecal incontinence

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have had Crohns disease for over 30 years. I have had multiple surgeries for it and now have Short Bowel Syndrome. I have also had several surgeries for anal fistulas resulting in YEARS of fecal incontinence especially when I sleep. My GI Dr recently recommended a rectal stimulator but my insurance would not cover it and its very expensive. Does anyone have experience with this? Is it worth persuing a grant or loan? He also mentioned a bulking agent called Solesta. Anyone tried this?

Hi Teresa, I haven't had fistulas or incontinence. I have permanent Ileostomy stoma.
