I've never tried to because you're not supposed to take it with SSRI Anti depressants. Ie Citalopram Fluoxetine Paxil Zoloft.

I think that it's uses are more with depression.

It won't work. Don't use it. St John's Wart does nothing for the depression or mania experienced by bipolar patients. Please don't substitute this for your current meds.
Better yet, don't ask us, ask your doctor about St John's Wart.
If you decide to try it on your own, please check with your doctor or pharmacist about possible drug interactions of St John's Wart with any of your current medications, because it can cause some serious problems.
