Salty taste in mouth

Hi everybody, 

Can anyone help please? 

I’ve been trying to find out why I’m having salty secretions in my mouth.

I think it might be food related but I’ve been searching and searching the internet for possible causes.

Is there anyone else with this same annoying symptom?

I must add that in December I had a cracked tooth which was the start of all my problems i.e. this tooth had to be extracted which led to a dry socket, then an abscess, loads of antibiotics and Ibuprofen, and at the same time I started to get a very salty taste in my mouth, I then had serious heartburn and acid reflux, felt very shaky with a feeling like a lump was stuck in my throat. 

I’m mostly better but the salty secretions remain. 

Please let me know if anyone has anything similar. Incidentally, I’m not sure if this is a dental or a medical problem, so I will be really pleased to hear anything that might help.
