Has anyone tried SAMe? I have read good reports on it via the Arthritis website here in the UK but there are very few suppliers.

    I went and looked it up as I haven't heard of it and been under a consultant for quite a few years and we have tried various things but he never mentioned this. Research seems to be very old. The paper I read said they were unsure of the dosage. My problem is normally with pain and I use the good old voltarol gel and ultimately had 2 joint replacements to remove the pain and give me mobility.

      Good idea wknight!   I too thought I'd look it up, but, haven't had time....     I too use the gel, as normal, my OA is just getting worse, it seems, by the minute!  Oh well, we press on regardless..

      Thanks for your response. I will look into it more as I would dearly love to find an alternative to painkillers as I've tried most of them and am either intolerant or they don't really help a great deal.
