saw my doc

well my doctor told me that she will consider taking out my galbladder but she would like to do one more test just to make sure. She says that she will do a 24 hour ph motility test as she needs to see if my gerd and esophogus could be the problem. Then if it is not this( she says this is a different surgery so she just wants to rule this out before taking out my galbladder.  I am so relieved. She feels that she will consider taking out the galbladder if this test shows it is not Gerd. I am just so happy that she will at least consider this for an option to my problems.. Finally , maybe some relief down the road. I will be skinny by the time she gets this sorted but at least she is willing to work with me. I tell you all this testing seems to take so long but she put an urgent on it and they have already called to give me a time. 2 more weeks and I may finally have the solution to all this pain and suffering. She said that my tests show nothing remarkable but she still feels this is my galbladder.

good that you rule out before removing the GB. Do you have gallstones or non working gb  and what is your symptoms ?

I do have low function gb earlier which now got stones and got gastritis. This is in a span of 10 years. My symptoms are severe bloating and burping after eating with gastric pain some time on the left or on the mid right and also makes me very tired.I dont have severe pain in gallbladder area though. My surgeon feels, there is 50 % chances i can do ok as i also have gastritis. So i'm on the side lines.I'm wondering if its my esophagus sphincter is weak causing the problem or the gallbladder .Let me know how your PH test goes. Please do post here.

My symptoms have been pain under my right rib which gets really bad after I eat. I have lost 25 pounds since January as it is just better if I do not eat. bloating, nausea every day and I just feel so tired and sick. She said that even tho my tests all appear fairly normal she feels it is my gallbladder causing me to be so ill. I am 61 years old. She wants to rule out GERD as she told me this is a different surgery. She is also doing a ct scan before I see her again. I have had bad reflux in the past but I do not feel this is it. When I eat I suffer horribly..I am glad she is thorough and feel she is a really good gastro doctor. Sounds like we are having the same kind of issues . I will let you know how the swallow and 24 hour motility test goes. Hope you are having a good week.

You don't mention that you have evaluated the Ursodioxycholic acid? There are quite a few website that have been generated by doctors.

Do you have gallstones?  Just curious as I have a large 2.5cm gallstone but no pain just constant neasea but a test showed slightly slow gastric emptying which is gastropresis.  It's been a year & 7 months of small hardly any food meals, neasea & 40 pounds lost.  My gallbladder isn't diseased but has the gallstone!?  They aren't sure & I'm not either these days?!!!!  Very stressful.

Hi Karen , I have no gallstones and tests are fairly normal but I have nausea and pain and if I eat I suffer. Strong pain under right rib especially. My doc feels it is my gallbladder and I agree. I am waiting till I get this out as it is making my life hell. Not sure what they will do for you as they can dissolve the stones without taking your organ out! I sure hope you get this figured out cause I know how you are feeling.
