SCABIES CURED ....I hope

So it all started around October 2017. My head started to be itchy here and there.

I tried the ordinary over counter shampoos. All given temporary relief for few days and itch started again.

Then one day,I walked too fast and got very hot. Once home back started to be very itchy all over and then the body too whole night. After that nothing.

Then around December 2017 started the ocassional itch here and there. With very few,3 or 4 red pimples like on the skin. Near the knees and on tummy. I had no burrow's except one near elbow. But that was not itchy. It was painful so I think it was just some infection on the skin.

Then my child started to be itchy on shoulder and buttocks. Few spots came up but once I put Elocon cream on,which is steroid one for eczema spots went away.

Then my husband itched on lower legs only. But no spots or burrows.

I consulted GP over phone and she mentioned Scabies.

F**k.

I started to research online and seen all the horrid stories of never ending itch.

STOP

Do not read it. It will make you paranoid.

I tried Neem oil, only to offer temporary itch relief.

Tried daily to swallow garlic tablets, no change.

Tried salt baths, temporary itch relief.

I poured pure bleach on me and showered off with hot 38 degrees water. Temporary itch relief. And got temporary eczema.

In March I went to GP.

She said scabies.

So I applied Permethrin cream on Saturday and again week later. On all four of us in the family.

It felt like prickling feeling when applied. As I put it on my face too, I felt dizzy and drunk like. It's a side effect.

And as I have long hair,I mixed whole tube in little cup with little water and put all over my hair.

Left 8 hours and washed.

Now almost 4 weeks later I still have slightly itchy scalp and small itch here and there.

Nothing like before.

They say it can itch several weeks as skin is heeling.

My child was itchy few times here and there but nothing as before.

So I am hoping it's gone.

I keep taking Hayfever tablets and it helps a lot.

In the first 2 weeks I got few new single red spots. Once two next to each other.

But the itch is not as intense as before 1st treatment

The things I done during 1st and 2nd treatment

1. Washed all clothes 50 degrees. All towels, linen and anything textile in the house I washed

2. After 1st application I changed bed linen again and turned mattress over

3. Binned my make up brush and used new

4. Binned my shower glove and used new

5.changed mop head

6.

Bleached my hoover, including hose just for a good feeling

7.chucked carpets which I wanted to do anyway

8.hoovered properly behind bed

9. Got new hairbrush

10. Put clothes I could not wash in black bag and washed 50 degrees 3 weeks later.

Scabies cannot fly and go about 5mm a day. So they do not go on ceilings etc. as someone said.

But yes they can get on face and scalp.

I wish you all the luck. I wish I was not in denial and went to GP for Permethrin in December 2017.

I felt suicidal at that time. No kidding. The stress, the itch at night. I cried a lot when alone. Also until now mild panic attack anytime I or family member itches.

Oh don't forget. If you have hardened skin,e.g. on your heels, get rid of it first before putting Permethrin on as it would be difficult for skin to absorb.

Stay strong guys. And remember there are worse things than this.

Good luck.
