Scalp condition. What is this?

Hi All

I am a 28yo male and have had a condition on my scalp for a number of years (noticed it up to 10 years ago).

There are periods where it gets worse and sometimes it almost disappears, but I have no idea what affects this.

For as long as I can remember, I have had dry/crusty inner ears, ear lobe and corner of eyelids - from about 6 til 16 I used hydrocortisone and aqueous cream for this, and then I moved on to only using cocoa butter which isn't as effective as the previous combination but has kept things under control as long as I moisturise often and am careful with what I wash with (avoid soap).

Please see pictures below.

  1. Can anyone tell me what this is?
  2. Is it likely my dry ears and eyes are a result of the same condition?

It looks like psoriasis, but in the last picture it also looks as though you have some vitiligo. Have you ever consulted a doctor about these patches? you could have several things going on here including eczema.

You could try using a shampoo with Selenium Sulphide as the active ingredient but a dermatologists opinion would be much better. If you are in UK go to your GP.

Do you have any other health problems? Is there a family history of any sort of health problem?
