Scalp dysesthesia

So, some of the regulars on here may have seen some of my posts about anxiety and symptoms that relate solely to your head and your brain. Well, in these posts I have spoken of my fear of having a brain tumor because of symptoms I am experiencing. This unpleasantness that I am experiencing, it's so complicated to describe because... it's not painful, but it's annoying, I'm constantly aware of it... but I don't really know how to describe the feeling, whether it's a burning, or a tightness, or a stabbing or prodding.

But I learned today of something called scalp dysesthesia; now, it has its own wiki page, which mentions anti-depressants on it. Wouldn't it be a kick in the head, no pun intended, if the anti-depressant I am taking to combat anxiety, is giving me a symptom that is actually making me anxious?

David, i  don't think it would surprise me one bit.  I thought I was having bowels problems from anxiety.  As soon as I started with th Zoloft it just continuted to get worse.  So of course I convince myself I have colon cancer.  I swear no wonder we're so anxiety ridden.

I know, Susan, it's absolutely awful. Normally, with the symptoms that come with anxiety, I can handle them reasonably well - arms, legs, bowels, whatever else, like bring it on - but when things start going on inside my head, I'm like no, no, no, nuh-uh, don't like this!

David,  I admit that it would scare the heck out of me.  At least though you've found an answer and can see someone about it.  You must do that as soon as possible.  I got a tiny fly in my ear once and the feeling was horrendous.  So I would bet it feels something like that.  Good luck and hugs, Sue

What do you do, Jenni, to get past it? Or are you struggling the way I am?

Honestly I've tried everything , I don't take meds though , I take vitamins , but I stopped everything and just fought through it cold turkey and prayer and I still go through it when I'm under stress or when I think about it a lot but it does pass , its just a hard thing to deal with . its a constant fight , I've been through so much with this anxiety , I've lost over 20lbs and been to countless doctors and have had over all kinds of testing , MRIs of my brain and head , blood work , endocrinologist everything !!! All testing came back normal and I'm still convinced something is weird about all this , so to answer your question yes I'm definitely suffering and struggling

I'm right there with you. I haven't had an MRI, but I have had pretty much everything else; a lot of blood work, an ultra sound of my abdomen, physical tests, etc. etc. I'm from the UK, so here it's not just a case of having an MRI done. Usually, doctors only send you if they believe there is cause to.
