I am six weeks out on a total knee replacement, my scar is really red but all healed, does anybody have any ideas of what I can put on it to help it heal better?

Hi had great success with bio oil except for 2 spots which healed much more slowly. Good luck.

Try Bio-oil (Savers is the cheapest). Massage it in for about 5-10mins every night. Or Cocoa butter.

I was told massage with Bio Oil as well. Massage in small circles with a firm pressure twice a day. Helps reduce sensitivity as well. Good luck

Scar Shield Gel  (Recommended by BoneSmart) I have not tried it, though.

    Product Ingredients

DOCTOR RECOMMENDED & CLINICALLY PROVEN: The regenerative technology used in ACTIVE’s Scar Shield Gel is the same DOCTOR RECOMMENDED and CLINICALLY PROVEN formulation used in hospitals worldwide. Active Scar Shield kills 99.9% of all bacteria on contact and helps prevent scarring by speeding your body’s natural recovery process.

STOP SCARS BEFORE THEY FORM: Most scar reduction treatments go to work after the scar has already formed. Why not prevent as much scarring as you can before it happens? ACTIVE Scar Shield is safe and effective to apply during the healing process.

SAFE FOR USE AS YOU HEAL: Most scar treatments say their products are not safe for use on open wounds. With ACTIVE Scar Shield (natural scar gel), you can reduce scarring by applying directly to cuts, scrapes, wounds, post-operative incisions and more during the natural healing process. Not only will the gel kill bacteria in the area, but also help prevent scarring by supporting your bodies natural healing process.

NATURAL, NON-TOXIC and ANTIBIOTIC FREE: ACTIVE Scar Shield scar gel is natural and non-toxic making it safe to use around “sensitive areas”, eyes, ears and mouth. It is also antibiotic free and non-sensitizing (aka no-sting). To recap, it is natural, non-toxic, antibiotic free, does not sting, can be used anywhere, it is safe for use during the healing process AND it helps reduce scarring.

BETTER TECHNOLOGY FOR BETTER HEALTH: ACTIVE Scar Shields technology now gives you the ability to externally treat scar inducing injuries such as wounds, cuts, post-surgical incisions, scrapes, rashes, chafing, sunburns, insect bites, other potentially scarring skin irritations -- using the same molecule your body does internally (HOCl) to kill bacteria, reduce skin inflammation and help the body heal.
