Scar therapy?

Yesterday I had my first THR post-op f/u, at 3 weeks (it was supposed to be 2 but the surgeon was busy.) The nurse removed my dressing (it's been on & untouched since surgery.) Everything looked good. There were no staples or stitches, just some voodoo magic holding my posterior together. I'm impressed with how skinny the scar is. However, it's still a scar and I would like to "treat" it to reduce it's appearance over time.

The pharmacy/chemists shops are full of oils and moisturizers promising eternal youth and bliss. What have you used?

    hi

bio oil but a cheaper version in Lloyds chemist is body oil. apparently just the same. my physio and consultant told me to massage the scar for about 10 min everyday with my thumb, going in pretty hard to break down the scar tissue. i have been more tentative and probably too gentle. i didnt start massaging until about 3 weeks after. not necessary to use oil to do this but irub on twice a day and before swimming.
