I've been suffering from anxiety since March and have noticed every little thing with my body since. This is for the women, I'm expecting my period anyway now, have been having some vsginal discharge which I know is my uncommon, last day or two it's been clear and today when I wiped thought perhaps my period started as had slight pink tinge on toilet paper, next time I went to bathroom had some discharge with a red streak in it, no red on toilet paper, any advice anyone?

I think I'm ok to just with this anxiety I overreact to every symptom. Knowing I'm to be starting it any day now helps ease my mind thinking this is normal

Are you on the birth control pill, Ashley? Are you a teenager who hasn't been having periods for long?
I'm a nurse, and a midwife, and it is quuite normal for this to happen. If you don't get your period properly within 48 hours, and you're still spotting like this, please see your doctor.
One other thing - is there any possibility that you could be pregnant - even if you used protection? Because in very early pregnancy many women experience what is called implantation bleeding, which is the fertilised egg implanting itself in the uterus. Remember that protection is never 100%.
Hope it starts soon! Anxiety can also cause menstrual upsets, so if you're quite sure that you can't possibly be pregnant, the anxiety is pretty much certainly the cause of this. love Tess xxx

Thanks Tess, i'm 28 and on birth control, i was off it for a month then started again after my last period. This morning i had a bit more blood and no discharge and am getting the period cramps, bloating gasy feeling, i'm pretty sure it's my period, i hope anyway. Since my anxiety started in march i can't seem to remember much about what i would normaly experience with anything, ex symptopms with my period. I hope it's just that i'm over reacting, i have a Dr apt next wednesday to follow up regarding the anxiety medication i started a month ago. I will discuss with him any concerns i have.
