Hello Annette, there no medical term(high psa in bones) what he probably meant was high PSA blood level, which can be caused by many things, one of which is prostate cancer, but not solely. this doctor may prescribe antibiotics to see if his numbers returned to normal if they do it was probably an infection, if not further testing will be required. however most PSA elevations are not the result of prostate cancer

High psa could indicate prostate problem but that does not automatically indicate it is in his bones don't get ahead of yourself wait for the tests and if he does have a prostate problem stand bye him give him support (the whole family) its very important and there are many people who can help you. The only way is to be strong for him FIGHT!! and never give in.

I wish you goog luck with the tests, I suffered with my hips and back but the test showed only a prostate problem which o have since had removed.

It is a SHOCK at first tears, why me and all that goes with such terrible news but you have to get up the next day at believe support support support.

    Good luck & best wishes.

I have never heard of high blood test readings in the bones. Who is not telling you the PSA reading? The doctor or your husband?

And he hasn't had any antibiotics for this at all just very strong pain killers which are doing nothing to ease pain in lower back.

Hi Annette - I can fully appreciate how you're feeling as I am going through same with my husband. His psa level was 900 and his gp told him it was the highest he had ever seen which has made us think it must be prostate cancer. He has now had a biopsy and bone scan and we go for the results on 26th of this month. The waiting is the worse thing. He's 65 and has also had bad back pain for the past few weeks but we're hoping this isn't connected. I hope everything goes well for your husband. Best wishes.
