SCARED I HAVE LYMPHOMA

Posted , 3 users are following.

I might be freaking out for no reason, but I can feel about 4-5 moveable (1 cm in size) lumps under my chin/ jaw. For awhile now I’ve been able to feel my lymph nodes in my neck and jaw area. The past couple days I’ve been having anxiety over being able to feel them because I don’t remember there ever being so many of them, that I can feel. I’ve been feeling them frequently the past day or so that maybe I’ve irritated them by touching so much?

Another thing that has me worried is excessive fatigue and feeling run down. Some nausea & Body aches too! It’s the worst in the morning until the afternoon when I start feeling slightly more energized.

Anyone have any thoughts or advice? Does this sound normal?

    Hi Hope

I know how you feel, you should go to your gp and discuss with them, then they may send you for an US on your head and neck, (as they did with me). The longer you leave it the worse your anxiety will be, ( i have that too lol). It's the not knowing whats causing it that makes it worse. Go see your GP and discuss your symptoms and how it is making you feel. Good luck hope you get better soon.

I too have multiple swollen lymph nodes in my head/neck area now for almost a yr. They come and go but haven't seem to left for good yet. I have a bunch under my jawline/chin, and then one on the back of my neck by my hairline, and one behind my left ear. They are all 1-1.5 cm.

I've seen my GP, dermo, ENT, and an Oncologist (I wanted a variety of opinions lol). And all of those Drs believe my nodes are just oversensitive and reacting to the acne I get on my face. It seems weird that acne could cause them to swell, but I do have to admit that they disappear sometimes and then if I have a bad breakout they all come back. So maybe it is just acne? =/

I really worried I had lymphoma tho, and I still kind of do. I had an ultrasound and lots of bloodwork done. Everything comes back normal, so for now I'm just on a wait and see plan -_ - Which doesn't help my anxiety at all.

What I can tell u tho, is that my oncologist said the main thing for lymph nodes is size. Also, if you have any physical symptoms like persistent fever, severe night sweats, or rapid weight loss - that could also be a red flag. But she told me I could have 10 swollen nodes for years, and as long as they are all only 1-2cm in size, and I don't have any of those physical symptoms ^, she wouldn't be concerned.
