Scared of Colon Cancer

I am terrified I have colon cancer and its literally taking over my life. I am a 23 year old male and for the past 6 months I have noticed some blood in my stool. I have mentioned this to my Gp and he doesnt believe its anything to be concerned about. Fast track to now for the past month or so I have been experiencing very bad cramping pains and constipation. I have went to my GI doctor and she believes it may just be a buildup in my colon and had prescribed me something to take. Im not sure if its a side effect of the medication but I have been having weird stool colors such as white and green. The cramps and pains have also not gone away and im experiencing some night sweats now. (Not sure if thats just my anxiety kickin in) I have always been known for stomach issues so I also want to add that I had a colonoscopy done last year and everything came out perfectly clear. So I'm not sure if that should be a sign that I shouldnt be worrying about cancer but I cant think of anything else it could be in my head ! I have a follow up with my Gi doctor at the end of this month but my anxiety is just off the roof.

You should go get a colonoscopy. I had blood in mine (21 male) and I went to my gp. She recommended me for a colonoscopy and they found a cancerous polyp. I would have gotten cancer if it hadn't have been removed. Now everytime I go to the doctor they tell me how lucky I was to find that.

You've had a colonoscopy a few months ago and it was all clear? I'm not a medical person but I think cancer takes longer than that to develop. Maybe ask to see a colorectal specialist to get an expert opinion. Yes, I certainly sympathise about your anxiety. I reached my 5 year mark last November and was told I am disease free - the relief was almost overwhelming. I'm sure you'll get it sorted quite soon. All the best.
