Scared of Hiv after testing positive for Syphilis

I'm a 21 year old gay male. i had only one sexual partner that I been with for years that I had unprotected sex with and we were in a relationship l. however we broke up and I did oral sex with a few dudes, no swallowing or anything & no anal sex at all. i had swollen lymph nodes in my neck & groin & that was all. My lymph nodes were swollen for a month and ahalf & I went to the ER and they told me that my white blood cell count was normal. i went and got tested because I was scared I had HIV. and 3 days leater i got a call from the nurse to come in & I was scared but she told me that I tested positive for Syphilis. I had not gotten my results back for my HIV test. . My viral load for syphilis was 128. I immediately was given the syphilis shot on both sides of my hips. The nurse told me my lymph nodes were most likely swolen in my neck and groin because of the syphilis infection and that they should go down eventually. She said it's probably unlikely that I have HIV but if any of the tests come back they'll call if something is wrong or abnormL in my blood. That night I had a night sweat which was the first time I had one. i immediately got scared thinking I had HIV, and today I got a voicemail from my nurse saying that I needed to come in Monday for more lab work. I'm really scared that she's gonna call me in to say that I have HIV or it looks like I do, even though i haven't had any symptoms of it at all. Why would she need to do more lab work? i'm so scared.

Hi.
Don't worry night sweats can be caused by your anxiety also. Eventhough there is no symptoms testing is better. Wait for results and be safe got future.

You were unlucky to get syphilis from oral sex, and it's very unlikely you got HIV. Gonorrhoea would be more likely, or they may just want you back to make you come back for syphilis treatment, or potentially for more tests.
Being HIV is no longer as bad as it used to be btw. If you google "rather have hiv than diabetes", you can read a doctor comparing them, and saying he'd rather have HIV.
Good luck!

and that smiley face appeared by itself. There should just have been a closing bracket after the second double quote. This forum seems to interpret a closing bracket as a smiley though, if there's a colon anywhere before it.
