Scared of these Symptoms, is this normal?

Hello,

I have a question. Everytime I eat I feel like I have trapped gas, and a fullness feeling on my left side abdomen, sometimes goes to my right side upper abdomen under rib cage. I have not noticed weight loss, and it has come on rather quickly around new years after having an upset stomach. My bowel movements have been normal to not normal. Though, I get more gas than stool and I feel like I have incomplete bowel movements. Sometimes they are loose, sometimes I am constipated. Sometimes I feel this fullness feeling in my right side abdomen. I do also get a “tingly” feeling on my left side after eating. Most of the time I notice this after eating. This does not hurt, and I have not noticed a lack in appetite, or energy. I have not noticed visible blood in my stool either.

Is this colon cancer? I am scared I am a healthy 29 year old white male. Thanks.

I did get a complete blood count blood test and all came back within normal range

hi Brandon, i can see why you'd be scared! at only 29 it would be very unlikely to be colon cancer. i think this is ibs, it could be something else but i am no expert. you will need to find out from your doctor's if it's something else. they will start ruling things out. what you've not explained is what you mean by an upset stomach at Xmas? i mean was it all kicked off by stress. if so that could kick off ibs. go back to your doctor's and start to ask questions so you know what is going on. i had to ask lots of questions, i now know i have coeliac disease NOT ibs! see what i mean? good luck. 🙏🤞

Brandon , do you drink beer a lot? that could cause gas build up like you describe. I think the clue may be something you are eating that is causing a lot of gas. What did you introduce into your diet at New Year that may be causing this? Sometimes it helps to do a food diary noting everything you eat, and trying to find the trigger food. Eliminate one food or drink every two weeks. It can take time but its worth it.

    Dont even think about cancer.
