I havent been diagnosed with anxiety but i'm more than certain i have it. i have googled symptoms and i match almost all off them, anyway my issue is i'm too scared to make a doctors appointment over the phone. i have zero clue what to say. ''hello i think im suffering with anxiety'' something along those lines ? i feel silly and keep thinking of things to say over the phone that will not make me look like and idiot. i know i need to make an appointment as i know my none-diagnosed anxiety is getting worse the more i over think things and feel ever more worse.

You doc is there to guide you and when you make the appointment the receptionist should not as the reason. This means your coversatile is confidential.
Your doc need to give you the diagnosis and oncertified you get that then between you and you gp decide your options.
Try deep breathing, lots of water intake as of anxiety it drains you so stay hydrated. Eat
Well and sleep well
Keep us updated and never be scared to tell how you are feeling. Docs get paid big bucks to help and the real ones do. X X hope that helps

Lisa is right and you need to get fixed. .. I'm nearly there after 28 years of this devil...but I'm beating it up noW with a huge stick..
I think ( not 100%) around 85% of gp visits are stress anxiety related

Buddy don't google symptoms that's what's caused my severe health anxiety because you get so worked up about it, I now think daily I'm going to die from something in my head but slowly slowly getting better with it. Don't be afraid they're not there to judge they're there to help you as much as possible. And yes! That's exactly what you say, but explain why you think you have it just tell the doctor how you are feeling with all your symptoms. Trust me mate, you should call the doctors if you leave the anxiety it can sometimes lead you to worry and it becomes a constant cycle. I left mine too long and well I have health anxiety. But yeah, just go to the doctors or ring them up book and appointment, if they ask the reason simply say anxiety it's taken very seriously and not one person will judge you buddy. Sooner you get it checked out sooner you'll be fine
best of luck

Hi olly i just read your post... im the same i have terrible health anxiety and its only been for 2 and a half years but my god its so debilitating isnt it. Ive tried CBT and didnt really help so yesterday after a major freak out at the doctors and asking her to refer me to gyne she suggested i try paxil (antidepressant). Not happy about it as i try to avoid meds at all costs but gunna give it a go. Can i just ask how you deal with yours? My main fear is the dreaded C word 😢. Ive been totally convinced ive had EVERY type going x

Hi Vjs
I echo what the good people on this forum are advising you, the receptionist is only yhere to book the appointment and under no circumstances should even think to ask the nature of appointment. When you see your GP just explain your symptoms and how it is affecting you, and teust me, once you've visited the GP, you'll feel alot better, because you've actioned on it keep us all posted ?
