Scared to see my neurologist.

I'm triggered by masks due to PTSD because I can't read facial cues. Telethealth doesn't allow me to read body language either. What can I do to make getting healthcare more manageable?

I would say speak with a counselor who specializes in PTSD. He or she can help you manage this and possibly get you to the point where the masks don’t have that effect on you. , Or where telehealth isn’t an issue for you.

I do have a therapist that specializes in trauma. She's been amazing, but doesn't really have any solutions. She's simply frustrated that doctors are not trauma informed and simply ignore the needs of trauma survivors. The best she can do is pick up the pieces of the appointment's aftermath. It's so frustrating to me. Fortunately my PCP allows mask free appointments, but neurology simply doesn't care.
