It's okay you will wake up. Because your anxiety has been so bad you've been holding your muscles tight all day without realising and now it's the end of the day they are aching.

Try some of the exercises: https://patient.info/health/stress-self-help-guides

https://patient.info/health/stress-and-tips-on-how-to-avoid-it - it will help you to know when your tense too. Totally normal for anxiety people like us to worry about dying etc. so don't let yourself fret over that, you will absolutely fine and what your feeling the pains etc is normal x

Hi Steph, I have just read on another forum that these are a sign of anxiety, try and sleep your body will relax and calm itself down, I was in this state a week ago was xrawling the walls with anxiety, I've been to see the doc and he's put me on anti depressants, I was terrified to take them because I have had so many bad experiences with them but to be honest i have been fine, and after 7 days can say I am feeling a link better, go and talk to your doctor get the lowest dose possible and cut then in half that's what I did, get your life back, be positive and go for it xx

Very good suggestion by dawnA.  Always start at the lowest dose and if you can start with half of that. ;-)

    Hi,

Sorry to hear that but you do not sound ridiculous. That is what anxiety will do to you.  Get yourself a nice tea or tartar cherry juice and lay back.  Think about positive things and even about the good life you had before this all started and be thankful to God for that. Do some deep breathing and relax. Listen to one of many relaxing sounds available on you tube and relax.  You will get better, but it takes sometime so be patient.   I know, you probably have done this many times but eventually it will get better. Is totally up to you. ;-)

If my anxiety is keeping me from sleeping, I sometimes try the following:

    - Sleeping with the lights on

    - Sleeping with your phone in your hand

    - Sleeping with your laptop or television playing something

    You'll be fine

No its not sillly, get the same.. Was in AE on Monday night for palpitations..

Surely its anxiety, drink loads of water and have a shower, it will cool your body temperature and it will pass eventually..

If you are really really worried call 111, they will reassure you or get a doctor to call you.

Hi Steph, hope you are feeling a bit better today and managed to get a little sleep last night, these forums are a real help, helps to know we are not alone, all the best x

Hi , what you are saying is not ridiculous, it is a common symptom of anxiety the fear of not waking up. Try to relax before bedtime, read something light or think of something that makes you smile, breath slowly , you will be ok. the jaw pain is probably caused by you clenching your teeth, try to relax. Take care
