Hi, i was diagnosed with LS about 7 months ago after severe itching, and whitening around the anus. This had gone on for years but was told it was thrush and eczema by different gp's. I finally got to see a dermatologist who confirmed LS, ive had dermovate and hydromol which have relieved the symptoms, however i have now noticed these white patches on my vulva. The labia majora seem to be flatter than previously and clitoris seems to have fused? Is this what it looks like? I'm terrified as i'm only 30. Thanks

hi, sorry I'm not sure but that is a bit what mine looked like, I saw a gynecologist instead of a dermatoligist, can you try that?

Hi Amy,
It does look like lichen Sclerosus. It has the characteristic whitening and fusing. You can work with various natural oils to try to unfuse it. Some use coconut, olive, or even borax laced water (check here for proper amount of borax /water) but you need to start working on it yourself now. What in the heck is the matter with the GPs over there? Have they gone nuts? Almost any doc should be able to tell what that is. You might start with some baking soda in the bathtub (about half a cup in a half full tub) and sit/lie in that. By all means use the steroid. You want to stop the progression right now.

Hi Amy,
Have you been prescribed any dermovate for it?
I'm around the same age as you (32), sorry to hear you suffer from it too, but diagnosis is great as now you know what you're dealing with

I was prescribed Triamcinolone and it has worked wonders! in just 2 weeks the itching is gone and almost all the white patches.
ask your doctor for it! I went to a dermatologist too and she told me clobetasol was too strong for me and prescribed me that other one which is a softer corticosteroid.
I am 31 years old ans my LS was really bad.
