Hi Elizabeth. Trust in your doctor. They would have an excellent knowledge of what to look for and what it can and can't be. I hate taking tablets too. Always scared of side effects but when your doctor tells you you need them, I would take them. The first one is the scariest. After that you know what to expect. Have you read up on side effects? They always look worse that what you experience but good to educate yourself. If you  really don't feel safe taking them, go and get a second opinion and discuss your fears with the doctor. xx

    Hi Elizabeth,

It sounds like you had a vertigo attack. I have them as well. I get very hot and shaky and everything starts spinning. The spinning remains for the rest of the day, for me, until I go to sleep. The next day I am still dizzy but it doesn't keep spinning. Yours may keep spinning. I know it is very scary as I still get scared, too. Try not be alarmed.

Has the doctor asked you to follow up for more testing? An MRI or CT of the brain will help ease your fears. I'd ask your doctor for one, as they should do one anyway just to be safe.

As of now just keep telling yourself that they checked you over and if they felt it was life threatening, they wouldn't have let you go home.

Dizziness and vertigo can be very anxiety inducing but please know you're not alone.

Did they give you a diagnosis by any chance?

      Hi Elizabeth,

I am not on any medication as I have Ménière's disease (inner ear disease) and the only diuretic you can take for it, I happen to be allergic to. I've had chronic vertigo for 12 years. An ear infection brought mine on many years ago. I'm to be on a low salt diet and avoid caffeine, chocolate, and alcohol as this can all make it worse. If you have fluid in your ears, try avoiding this as well.

Menieres has no cure so yes it will always be there. I am 29 years old.

I'm really sorry to hear that you lost your daughter. My prayers and blessings are with you.

It is very scary being dizzy as it makes you think all kinds of horrible things. A lot of us here also have anxiety because of it. I'm also afraid to take medicine but I've tried many different medicines over the years so I'm picky about what I try for my ears. In your case, I wouldn't be afraid to at least try it.

Yes, I've had multiple MRIs and CTs of my brain as my dizziness couldn't be explained.

There could be many reasons you have fluid in your ears. You should contact an Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) doctor or a neurotologist (brain doctor that works with ears) so they can do tests and figure it out. One of them may order you a scan as well since your original doctor wouldn't.

Many of us have been in your shoes and know how scary this is. It's not uncommon. We're all here for you. Hang in there <3

Hang in there my friend we will get through this but we must listen to the De. For they know much more than we do.

If you are not happy with your Dr. You can request another opinion I'm sure.

I am terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter God bless you.

I am 57 years old you had asked earlier.

And I am taking Meds for dizziness and nausea as well as anxiety which seem to come with all of this mess.

Hi - I know its scarey but its probably just something vestibular.  You need to take the tablets they are for dizziness.  The longer you dont get rid of it, the longer it hangs on.  Mine started and Ive had it four years now.  On my 9th medication.  If you look it up it can be caused by migraine.  The vestibular stuff is just caused by extra brain electricity which shoots across the vestibular system causing really weird symptoms.  Weve all been there.  I had the panic attacks in the beginning because I was so scared.  Its really common and lots of people have it.  If you go onto facebook there is a section for vestibular migraine professional.  Im sure the symptoms will ring a bill.  I had the spinning / dizziness, sounds too loud, things too bright, funny popping ears, pain behind eyes, jaw, neck, chin and cheek.  Feeling sick.  Pins and needles on top of head. You can have all sorts of weird stuff.  Dont worry, it isnt serious but it is debilitating.  Take the tablets to get rid of it.  They cant harm you.
