all of the above and more, sounds like you have a very light case of sciatica, will probably get worse, get an MRI and see what is causing the symptoms.

    From the Mayo Clinic...

"Pain that radiates from your lower (lumbar) spine to your buttock and down the back of your leg is the hallmark of sciatica. You might feel the discomfort almost anywhere along the nerve pathway, but it's especially likely to follow a path from your low back to your buttock and the back of your thigh and calf.

The pain can vary widely, from a mild ache to a sharp, burning sensation or excruciating pain. Sometimes it can feel like a jolt or electric shock. It can be worse when you cough or sneeze, and prolonged sitting can aggravate symptoms. Usually only one side of your body is affected.

Some people also have numbness, tingling or muscle weakness in the affected leg or foot. You might have pain in one part of your leg and numbness in another part."

Hi, sciatica can cause so many issues in your back and your legs, from pain to stiffness to cramping.

I have suffered for over 10yrs now and have had several operations and proceedures but to no avail.

When I slipped my disc originally I carried on working as a paramedic which of course involved lifting twisting etc.

Because of my ignorance there has been so much damage to the nerves that I now have constant pain from my back to my toes. I agree that surgery is not to be taken lightly because they all leave scar tissue which can also cause issues.

Look after your spine you only have one and not everything can be fixed.

I believe I'm at the end of my first experience. I have stiffness in my left foot. I have burning and pain in my left calf muscle. I feel the pain in my calf when I lay down in bed, but when I do sciatic exercises just before bed it feels much better. It all started in my lower back. I believe this was caused by my misuse of an elliptical machine. I continuously felt numbness in my left foot after every use (6) of the machine. The doctor prescribed Naproxen and Prednisone for 5 days. I had never taken either.

You should definitely get an MRI just to make sure.. But I recommend Acuraflex caspule and cream, it saved me from pain.
